The Forever Home Project

The Forever Home Project will focus on restoring neglected historic properties — not for profit, but for purpose. Each home will become a place of stability, dignity, and empowerment for individuals in recovery or rebuilding from hardship.

This initiative will combine:

Historic home restoration

Skill-building and hands-on trade experience

Community partnerships

Long-term housing support

Storytelling that restores pride in every neighborhood

It’s not active yet — but the foundation is being built.

As someone who has rebuilt his own life, Chris understands how powerful a safe home — and a second chance — can be. The Forever Home Project is rooted in that belief.

By restoring one home at a time, we aim to restore more than architecture:
we’re rebuilding stories, confidence, and futures.

This mission reflects everything History Loves Company stands for:
preserving the past while empowering the present.

Phase 1 — Planning & Partnerships
We’re currently building relationships with city leaders, tradespeople, and recovery organizations.

Phase 2 — Selecting the First Home
A historic property in Pontiac will serve as the pilot restoration project.

Phase 3 — Renovation & Training
Participants will work alongside craftsmen to restore the home while gaining real-world skills.

Phase 4 — Move-In & Support
The home will become a safe, stable “forever home” for someone starting a new chapter.

(These phases are in development — no active program or renovation is underway yet.)

Historic homes are often abandoned, neglected, and left behind — just like people can be. The Forever Home Project exists to remind us that nothing is beyond redemption.
With care, intention, and community, anything can be rebuilt.
